Being a Friend to the Friendship Home

The fifth grade class at Messiah spent part of their day on Thursday tying blankets to donate to the Friendship Home, a shelter for women and children who had to escape from domestic violence. These women and families often arrive with only the clothes on their backs, so receiving a warm blanket can be the first act of love they’ve experienced in a while.

Families of the fifth grade students contributed to the purchasing of fleece for these blankets, and a Thrivent Action Grant helped to cover the rest of the costs. Pray for the staff at the Friendship Home and for the people who have to make use of their services, that they would feel the love of God through these blankets.
