Messiah School’s Give To Lincoln Day Donations Totaled $33,525!

For Give to Lincoln Day, we hoped to raise funds to help us buy classroom items that had to be cut from our Forward in Faith budget. We’re excited about new classrooms for our teachers and students, and hoped we could replace many of the aging items in their current classrooms. We knew we didn’t have enough money available to replace everything, but prayed that God would provide.

We hoped to raise at least $10,000 to help with the purchase of new furnishings, but God rained down blessings on us by providing more than 3 times our goal! Our final tally for donations was $33,525!

But wait… That’s not all! We will also receive a proportional share of the $500,000 match fund made possible by Lincoln Community Foundation and generous sponsors of Give To Lincoln Day.

Thanks to all who were able to donate! We look forward to sharing pictures of our new school, complete with beautiful furnishings, during the summer.

Second Grader Henry Leads Chapel at Home

From Wendy Borcherding, Second Grade Teacher:
We were scheduled to have our second grade class lead the chapel service in April, but because of distance learning we could not do that.

When Henry, one of our second graders, realized what day it was, and that we weren’t able to lead the chapel service as planned, he was really disappointed.

He decided he was going to write his own chapel service for his family! He spent the whole day writing Bible verses on notecards and planning what Bible story he would read.

Instead of their family movie night, Henry had a family chapel night. He shared the Bible verses he wrote with his family. He read the Bible story, “Jesus Rides into Jerusalem” and also read “The Ten Commandments”.

What a special way to have chapel!
