Some call Messiah the place we gather to worship and grow in God’s Word – online and/or in person. Some call Messiah the place we send our children for pre-school or elementary school. Some call Messiah people who genuinely care for one another and share real life with each other. Some call Messiah a people who generously gives help to the hungry, the homeless, and the under-resourced individuals and families here in Lincoln and around the world.
However you’re connected to Messiah, please know that you’re always welcome, and we’re always here for you. We consider you to be a part of our family, and hope you do too.
Open, honest, and true to God’s Word.
We want you to feel like you can be yourself. There’s no need to put on a fake smile and pretend like everything is fine. We’d love have you hang out after worship or dropping your children off at school and share in life’s ups and downs. We look to the Word of God and the teachings of Jesus Christ to help us navigate life together. We strive to be in God’s Word every day through personal study, small groups, and worship.
The faith and foundation of others.
In the early 1970’s, the congregation of Calvary Lutheran Church built an elementary school on our current site. In the late 1980’s, a group of families from Calvary formed Messiah Lutheran Church and took over operation of the school. Since then, we’ve added a lower level education wing, preschool, childcare, and in 1996, our current worship space. Most recently, we’re excited about the addition of our new education, music, and meeting room spaces that opened in the fall of 2020!
