At Messiah Lutheran Church, our mission is simple but powerful: to help people know Jesus, follow Him, and become disciples. That calling continues to draw people from all walks of life—those seeking truth, connection, and a place where their faith can flourish.
This year, through two Discover Messiah classes held in January and June, we were blessed to welcome 29 new households into our church family. Each person and family who joins us brings a unique story and spiritual journey, but together, we’re united in Christ and the shared desire to grow in Him.

What Is Discover Messiah?
Discover Messiah is more than just a class—it’s an open door. These sessions are designed to introduce individuals and families to what it means to be part of our faith community: our beliefs, our mission, and the ways we live out God’s calling through worship, service, and everyday discipleship.
Throughout the sessions, participants often express a desire for:
- A church that holds firmly to the truth of Scripture
- Christ-centered preaching and teaching
- A strong foundation for their children’s faith through school, youth ministry, and confirmation
- Opportunities to serve, connect, and grow within the body of Christ
Why People Are Joining Messiah?
Many of our new members have deep Lutheran roots and were searching for a congregation committed to biblical authority in a world where cultural compromise is common. Others are rediscovering faith after time away from church or stepping into a church community for the very first time.
Some found their way to Messiah through our Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC) or school, others through friendships or outreach ministries. Whether they came from down the street or across the country, what they discovered here was a church that’s anchored in truth, rich in community, and driven by the desire to help people become fully devoted followers of Jesus.
A Hunger for Truth and Community
One thing was clear across both sessions: people are hungry for more than surface-level faith. They’re looking for meaningful relationships, a deeper understanding of God’s Word, and a place where they can be known, loved, and challenged to grow. At Messiah, they’ve found just that—and we are thrilled to walk alongside them in this next season of life and faith.
