HOME IN A BOX
We provide basic household items for families transitioning from homelessness to a home or apartment.
Your donations of household items (listed below) will help formerly homeless families who are working to establish a better life for themselves.
We also appreciate your tax-deductible cash donations to purchase items when donated supplies are low. Thank you for helping our families!
Contact us at 402.489.3024 and we’ll coordinate with you to schedule volunteers to pick up the furniture items you would like to donate.
Help our families with these donations
Household furniture
Love seats, coffee tables, end tables, kitchen tables, kitchen chairs, chests of drawers, and lamps. We are unable to use reclining furniture or hide-a-bed couches, as they are too heavy. Please contact us 402.489.3024 to arrange pick up or delivery of furniture items.
Bedding and towels
Twin-size sheet sets, blankets, and bedspreads; full-size sheet sets, blankets, and bedspreads; new bed pillows; kitchen towels and wash cloths; hot pads; and bath towels, hand towels, and washcloths. Please bundle sheet sets or blankets, and designate their size (twin or full). These items may be brought to Messiah on Sunday mornings or weekdays during office hours, and placed in our Home in a Box donation bin.
Cookware and dinnerware
Pots and pans, baking pans and cookie sheets, cooking utensils, silverware, dish sets, glasses, and cups. You may bring these items to Messiah on Sunday mornings or weekdays during office hours, and place them in our Home in a Box donation bin.
Cleaning supplies
Laundry baskets, laundry detergent, household cleaners, window cleaners, bathroom cleaners, vacuum cleaners, brooms, dish soap, and dish detergent. These items may be brought to Messiah on Sunday mornings or weekdays during office hours, and placed in our Home in a Box donation bin.
