What to Expect on a Sunday Morning

We are one big family at Messiah!

Messiah is a church that stays true to God’s unchanging Word, in a setting that is genuine and real. Come as you are to worship, and you’ll fit right in. You’ll see some men wearing jackets and ladies in dresses, while others are in casual tops with jeans or shorts. Don’t be surprised to find people hanging around for quite a while before and after our services, as we love to laugh, smile and catch up on life’s happenings on Sunday mornings.

FORWARD IN FAITH

In 2020, Messiah will open its largest ever expansion!
We are excited to share what God is doing at Messiah with you.

Ministry Stories

Training Them up in the Way they Should Go

This year the Lutheran Schools of Lincoln hosted the First Annual Spelling Bee for students in 2nd and 3rd grades.  As these children stood and confidently spelled words into a microphone in front of an audience, it was apparent how much they have grown in their time at Messiah.  We are so blessed to have loving and encouraging teachers who have pointed them to Jesus time and time again to help them overcome their anxieties and give them the confidence they need to try new things!  It was a moment for us to praise God for His work in these young lives!

Baby Dresser Donations

The Human Care Board wants to thank you for your donations to the Baby Dresser Project.  We received diapers, wipes, crocheted blankets, flannel blankets, quilts, baby clothes, toys, books, bibs, and hygiene products.

Through your generosity, we were able to take 5 baskets to UNL chapel students and boxes to the Mission, the Pregnancy Center, Orphan Grain Train, and a basket to a new father, who is also one of our Home in a Box Recipients.

You have helped touch so many lives, sharing the love of Jesus in our community.  Thank you!

King Lake

Shown in the above photo is a woman whose home was inundated with water during the floods a year ago. As a result, her entire home had to be cleaned out down to the studs and outside finish.

A week before this photo was taken, this house was unlivable—insulation rolls, extra lumber, boarded up windows, and exposed new wiring in the ceiling. Messiah’s teams have since hung the sheetrock, installed windows, and insulated the walls during those two Saturdays.

When the owner came in just before this photo was taken and saw the walls taking shape, she just covered her face, and amid her tears, kept saying, Thank you! Oh, Thank you!

There is a lot yet to be done to this home, but with God providing the help of volunteers from Messiah and other churches and organizations, this and the more than 30 other homes like it, will be rebuilt. There is still plenty of need for Good Samaritans—no experience necessary!
