Youth Growing in Faith

  • Lutheran Valley Retreat: Our high school group serves at this retreat center to prepare it for summer camps and the many retreats that they host each year. This is a week-long trip that happened just after Memorial Day.
  • Gleanings for the Hungry: Our high school group has served at Gleanings to help prepare millions of meals that are sent to people in need all around the world. This is a week-long trip that usually happens during the second full week of June.

July 9-23, 2025 – New Orleans, Louisiana

  • Held every 3 years since 1980, the LCMS Youth Gathering provides thousands of youth and adults the opportunity to come together as a community of God’s people to be encouraged in their walk with Jesus Christ, and learn about the Christian faith and identity.
  • While at the gathering, we worship, serve, grow, play, and celebrate our love for Jesus Christ.
  • The National Youth Gathering only takes place once every 3 years, so don’t miss it!
  • Anyone entering 8th-12th grade this Fall will be eligible.
  • More information can be found at the gathering website.
  • Get-togethers The middle school students gather at Messiah, usually a couple times a month.
  • Nebraska District Middle School Youth Gathering We are part of the Nebraska District Gatherings that happen each year.
  • Get-togethers: Our high school youth gather weekly at Messiah for Bible Study and activities.
  • Nebraska District High School Youth Gathering: We are part of the Nebraska District Gatherings that happen each year, usually in November.
  • Our Confirmation program is designed to be relational and relevant for students and their parents.
  • Confirmation is a three-year program for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students.
  • Our students meet here at Messiah on Wednesday nights during the school year.
  • During our time together we spend time as a large group for the main topic, then break up into small groups (7th & 8th grade) or with the student’s parent (6th grade) to discuss the lessons we worked on.
  • Small group breakouts are also a great time to share what’s happening in our lives with each other.
